Providence Glen is on the Chapel Hill Transit bus line that is free to residents. Providence Glen is in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School District. The school district is consistently rated among the best in the nation. For example, East Chapel Hill High, which is the high school for Providence Glen residents, was rated one of America's top 100 high schools by U.S. News & World Report in December 2008. East Chapel Hill High was rated 77th out of more than 21,000 public high schools reviewed, and received their prestigious Gold Medal.
